  • What is your refund policy?
    Due to the nature of our courses, we are unfortunately unable to offer refunds. However, we can offer course credit so that your course can be taken at another time at no additional cost, provided you let us know at least 7 days in advance.
  • Will I get a temporary card upon completion of the course?
    Yes.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
    We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and a variety of others. We also accept Google Pay and Apple Pay. If you wish to pay using a different method, please contact us.
  • What if I lose my certification card?
    If you lose your certification card, contact the Lifesaving Society and they should be able to help you out.
  • What do you accept as proof of prerequisites?
    A copy of your certification card is best, however if you send us your LSS ID (found on the top corner of your cards), we can verify ourselves online. If neither of these options work for whatever reason, contact us and we will go from there.
  • What happens if I fail?
    Our courses are designed to be intensive and informative, and as such we experience an incredibly low failure rate. If you do fail a course, we let you repeat the course at half price. Contact us for more details.
  • When will I receive my actual certification?
    Your permanent certification cards should come in the mail within 90 days.
  • Where can I find my Lifesaving Society ID?
    On the top corner of any Lifesaving Society certification you may possess.
  • Why are the books important? Are they mandatory?
    The resources and books are vital to understanding the core concepts of the courses, and serve as a useful tool to study with and follow along with. As such, they are mandatory components of our courses.
  • Where do I send my prerequisites to?

  • When do I need my books by? How about my proof of prerequisite?
    Both are needed by the first day of the course.
  • My birthday falls in the middle of the course, how does that work?
    You must be the required age on the last day of the course.
  • My prerequisites have expired, is that okay?
    Expired prerequisites still work, just make sure to send them to info@ottawalifesavingcourses.com
  • I'll have my prerequisites by the end of the course, is that okay?
    No, prerequisites must be completed before the first day of the course.
  • Can I take a course and its prerequisite at the same time?
    No, prerequisites must be completed before the first day of the course.
  • Where can I order my books?
    You can order books from one of two places. The first one is through our "resources" tab. If you purchase through us, your books will be provided to you on the first day of your course. The second option is by ordering from https://www.lifeguarddepot.com/, the official store of the Canadian Lifesaving Society.
  • I can't attend 100% of my course, can I still take it?
    Unfortunately all of our courses require 100% attendance to pass.
  • Why can't I find the course I'm looking for?
    Although we would certainly love to, we are not able to offer every course at all times. If you would like a course that you don't see, send us an email and we can try to get one going. You can also potentially explore the private course options. Also make sure to check the Lifesaving Society's "Find A Course" page, as they show lots of course options in every area.
