Service Description

Welcome to our blended condensed Bronze course! This 40 hour course covers both Bronze Cross and Bronze Medallion, meaning that after this you will be a certified lifesaver, and will be well on your way to becoming a lifeguard. Bronze Cross is the prerequisite to most other advanced courses, such as National Lifeguard and Swim Instructor. This course can still be taken if you already have your Bronze Medallion. All participants will be required to sign a waiver before the course begins (or have a parent or guardian sign it if the candidate is under the age of 18). Prerequisites: 13 years of age OR Bronze Star. Proof of prerequisites must be received before the first day of the course and can be sent to info@ottawalifesavingcourses.com. Course delivery method: 10 hours online, 30 hours in pool. 100% attendance is required to pass. Stuff to Bring: whistle, towel, Canadian Lifesaving Manual, goggles (optional), bathing suit, pen and paper, snacks Resources: The Canadian Lifesaving Manual must be in your possession on the first day of the course. We recommend ordering from the Lifeguard Depot, the Lifesaving Society's official site. It is important to note however that it can take up to 5 business days for the books to be delivered. If you are within that time frame or would simply prefer it, books can be ordered through this site's "resources" tab and will be made available to you on the first day of the course. Note: Whistles can be purchased from us as well if you do not have your own.
